oapen.abstract.otherlanguageThe author reconstructs, through a path stretched between history and memory, the importance of the European and international dimension in Trentin's political and trade union action, from the experience of the FSM to the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC). It is an excursus that unravels through the encounter with the French Christian trade unionism of the 1960s and the experience of the Councils union in the second Red Two Years, the united unions in the 1980s, up to the Maastricht Europe of the 1990s, passing through the important divide in 1989.
