        Abstract
        Der Dessauer Gesandte Bernhard Georg Andermüller (1644–1717) zeichnete während seines vierjährigen Wienaufenthalts eine faszinierende Karte des frühneuzeitlichen Wien, vermutlich im Auftrag seiner Anhalter Dienstgebers. Minutiös verzeichnete der Gesandte darin im Sinne eines Selbstzeugnisses eines Diplomaten Wohnorte und Entscheidungszentren der Residenz Wien im ausklingenden Zeitalter Leopolds I. Neben dieser Vogelschau verdeutlicht der Plan von Michel Herstal de la Tache aus dem Jahr 1695/97 ebenfalls den sich abzeichnenden Transformationsprozess der Stadt, von einer bürgerlichen Stadt hin zu einer Residenz und Adelsstadt nach der zweiten Belagerung der Stadt durch die Osmanen: die Festung Wien, die Neuformierung der katholischen Welt und der Adel finden darin deutlichen Niederschlag.

        Export search results
