oapen.abstract.otherlanguageLexical Homonyms and Quasi-Homonyms (“équivoques”) in the Grammar of French and Russian of 1730. The article analyzes Russian homonyms and quasi-homonyms with a French translation from the section “Équivoques” of Grammaire Françoise et Russe of 1730. The history of the French term “équivoques” and the related terms “homonym”, “homophone”, “homograph” and “quasi-homonym” are considered. It is concluded that among the words in the section “Équivoques” there are both homonyms and quasi-homonyms. Correspondences of several words to similar words from the grammars of J. W. Paus and M. Schwanwitz were identified. Errors in the spelling of Russian words and their translation into French are analyzed. It is concluded that the author described the lexical difficulties of the Russian language from the point of view of a native German speaker.
