Chapter «Non si può più rifare con le parole»: tradurre Libera nos a malo (in francese)
dc.typechapter*
oapen.abstract.otherlanguageThe article first reviews some of the (not numerous) solutions offered to the translator from Italian. (The same could apply to other geographical-linguistic pairs that include diglossia phenomena). Referring to a typical text involving insertions in dialect, as in Luigi Meneghello’s first novel, Libera nos a malo, paradigmatic to all intents and purposes, the essay explains the actual solution chosen for the translation into French (Éditions de l’éclat, Paris 2010) and exemplifies it with a famous passage, summarising many of the issues at stake.
