oapen.abstract.otherlanguageIn this book, the reader will find a critical re-examination of the workplace as the location where tasks must (or may) be performed by employees. The discussion addresses both its initial identification and any possible changes occurring during the course of the employment relationship. The topic has become particularly relevant in light of the phenomena of delocalization and the dematerialization of production units. The analysis of the geo-legal dimension of work performance highlights certain regulatory gaps on the subject and revisits, in new ways, the issues of remote work and worker mobility—both within and beyond the company’s boundaries. Overall, the volume offers a reconstruction of the legal framework that emphasizes the role of mutual agreement between the parties. In conclusion, a comparative law analysis shows that this approach converges with the solutions adopted by other european countries.
