oapen.abstract.otherlanguageIn her final thesis, Sandra Sprunghofer dealt with the design of images in the context of plain language. First, she defines the most important terms in order to clarify the target group for which these images are designed and the context in which they are used. Based on a detailed literature research and review, Ms. Sprunghofer maps the status quo of the scientific discussion in the area relevant to the thesis. Through an excursus into an ongoing research project, she clarifies her relationship to the target group and to the practice of creative work in the field of easy-to-read images, followed by the heart of the work: Sandra Sprunghofer uses four structured expert interviews to work out how scientific studies and practical experience intertwine and where the experts interviewed see difficulties and potential in the current use of images in the context of easy-to-read language. In a concluding chapter, she shows what possibilities for improved design she sees based on the results of her research.
