Microstructure modeling and crystal plasticity parameter identification for predicting the cyclic mechanical behavior of polycrystalline metals

        Kuhn, Jannick (2023)
Computational homogenization permits to capture the influence of the microstructure on the cyclic mechanical behavior of polycrystalline metals. In this work we investigate methods to compute Laguerre tessellations as ...

Vibroakustische Analyse eines elektrischen Radnabenmotors und Optimierung durch geeignete Steuerungsansätze

        Stretz, Dominik (2023)
This work deals with the mechanisms of disturbing noises at the electric wheel hub motor and describes a multiphysical model which simulates them. From this, countermeasures are derived and evaluated. A vibroacoustical ...

In Situ Characterization and Modelling of Drying Dynamics for Scalable Printing of Hybrid Perovskite Photovoltaics

        Ternes, Simon (2023)
Hybrid perovskite photovoltaics could play a vital role in future’s renewable energy production. However, there are still severe challenges when scaling the technology. In this work, perovskite solution films drying in ...

Numerische Modellierung und Simulation von bleifreien Relaxor-Ferroelektrikum-Kompositen

        Streich, Friedemann (2023)
The electromechanical behavior of two new sodium bismuth titanate based lead-free ferroelectric materials as well as bilayer composites are investigated in experiments and numerical simulations. For the Finite-Element-Method, ...

Local Probing of a Superconductor’s Quasiparticles and Bosonic Excitations with a Scanning Tunnelling Microscope

        Gozlinski, Thomas (2023)
Complementary to scattering techniques, scanning tunnelling microscopy provides atomic-scale real space information about a material's electronic state of matter. State-of-the-art designs of a scanning tunnelling microscope ...

Perspectives on warm conveyor belts - sensitivities to ensemble configuration and the role for forecast error

        Pickl, Moritz (2023)
Warm conveyor belts (WCBs) are weather systems that substantially modulate the large-scale extratropical circulation. As they can amplify forecast errors and project them onto the Rossby wave pattern, they are of high ...

Multi-field modeling and simulation of fiber-reinforced polymers

        Schulte, Jonathan (2023)
This work proposes a new numerical approach for analyzing the behavior of fiber-reinforced materials, which have gained popularity in various applications. The approach combines theories and methods to model the fracture ...

Das „friedliche Atom“ als Narrativ in Politik, Wissenschaft und Design

        Gantner, Manuela (2023)
The work deals with the iconography of the atom from the euphoria about nuclear technology of the 1950s to the anti-nuclear movement of the 1970s in the Federal Republic of Germany. Using the life and work of the German ...

Hybrid photonic assemblies based on 3D-printed coupling structures

        Xu, Yilin (2023)
Photonic integrated circuits (PIC) become increasingly important for numerous applications. Mass production of PIC has become widely available, but large-volume low-cost photonic packaging still represents a challenge. ...

Multiscale Cohort Modeling of Atrial Electrophysiology

        Nagel, Claudia (2023)
An early detection and diagnosis of atrial fibrillation sets the course for timely intervention to prevent potentially occurring comorbidities. Electrocardiogram data resulting from electrophysiological cohort modeling and ...
