| dc.description.abstract | In this book, the author develops a theory of metaphors according to which metaphorical interpretations result from an interaction between certain linguistic properties of expressions and similarity-based processes of interpretation. Besides avoiding problems of other available theories of metaphor, his approach also provides valuable insights about other tropes such as irony or metonymy as well as about the relationship between semantics and pragmatics. | |

| oapen.abstract.otherlanguage | In dieser Arbeit wird ein Ansatz zur Beschreibung von Metaphern entwickelt. Metaphorische Interpretation liegen gemäß diesem dann vor, wenn Ausdrücke bestimmte, in dieser Arbeit spezifizierte, linguistische Eigenschaften besitzen und zugleich auf der Basis von Ähnlichkeitsüberlegungen interpretiert werden. Mit diesem Ansatz sollen auch aufschlussreiche Beiträge für das Verständnis von figurativer Sprache im Allgemeinen, sowie dem Wechselverhältnis zwischen Semantik und Pragmatik geliefert werden. | |
