dc.description.abstractReport on rescue excavation in 1996 by Tees Archaeology at housing development site where human remains were revealed. Evidence recovered indicated it was an EBA cemetery with remains of up to 20 individuals, both burials and cremations. A high-status burial of a woman had various objects of jet, while a male had a stone macehead. Evidence for mummification of some bodies.en_US
