Newly designed coarse-grained Nb-/Ta-Al₂O₃ refractory composite materials with multi-scale structure are potential candidates for high-temperature applications. As a basis, this work deals with the synthesis of composites using Field Assisted Sintering (FAST) to get a better understanding of both the influence of material composition and the particle size distribution of the starting powders on structural, electrical and mechanical properties.en_US
