dc.description.abstract | Teachers often experience sexualized addresses and the associated crossing of boundaries by pupils as a challenge. Socially taboo, there have only been a few studies on this topic to date. This topic has also been taboo, and little research has been done on teacher education and pedagogy. This handout uses a collection of case studies from schools to illustrate how the spectrum of these approaches can be categorized, which the authors use to describe five facets of sexual approaches. This categorization is based on the different intentions of pupils and the associated different (power) dynamics. While the discussion of sexual content, erotically charged interactions, as well as attraction and infatuation, can be seen as aspects of adolescent development processes, sexualized addresses with the intention of shaming and sexist assaults are to be seen as problematic behavior that violates boundaries and require pedagogical and professional interventions. The handout provides support in interpreting ambiguous situations and presents professional options for action. | en_US |
