Galen, ›On Demonstration‹ : Reconstruction of a lost treatise from Greek and Arabic sources

Abstract

This volume collects Greek and Arabic testimonia of the lost On Demonstration by Galen of Pergamum (129–c. 216). The texts are accompanied by notes, English translation, and a substantive introduction. The treatise was a study of method in natural science which made a significant impact on Arabic philosophy. What remains of it is an exciting source for the history of natural science, logic, and scientific writing.
