        Abstract
In the anthology Music Education – Diversity and Sustainability, Norwegian, Swedish and Danish music education researchers discuss different perspectives on diversity and sustainability in music education activities and research. The concept of diversity is itself diverse. It can be linked to gender and sexuality, ethnicity, social class, functional ability and age or to intersectional syntheses of these perspectives. In addition, music education research encompasses a theoretical and research methodological diversity. The concept of sustainability is also very diverse and can be linked to challenges of an economic, environmental, social and cultural nature. The first part of the anthology contains six chapters that discuss various diversity issues, with a particular focus on the significance of gender, class and ethnicity in music education activities. The three chapters in the second part of the book explore and discuss sustainability challenges in higher music education institutions, sustainable conceptions of musician health among students in higher music education, and issues of nature loss. The anthology's editors are Øivind Varkøy and Siw Graabræk Nielsen, both professors in music pedagogy and heads of the research center CERM (Center for Educational Research in Music) at the Norwegian Academy of Music.;I antologien Musikkpedagogikk – mangfold og bærekraft drøfter norske, svenske og danske musikkpedagogiske forskere ulike perspektiver på mangfold og bærekraft i musikkpedagogisk virksomhet og musikkpedagogisk forskning.
