En este son un cantar farei. Estudos sobre o universo das cantigas compiles eleven works that present recent approaches to the study of medieval Galician-Portuguese cantigas, particularly those belonging to the amigo genre. They focus on such fundamental aspects as the peculiarities of the manuscript and codicological transmission of the cantigas, the genealogy of the troubadours, the critical edition of the texts, as well as the review of ongoing projects such as Universo Cantigas or poetic reinterpretations that have been and are being carried out of the amigo genre in contemporary Galician, Portuguese and Brazilian poetry. These studies are the work of twelve specialists from the Galician, Portuguese and Italian fields and aim to contribute to the expansion of this field of research, based on philological and historical rigour, with the hope of opening up new dialogues and paths that will enrich the already rich universe of Galician-Portuguese cantigas.
