Die Prosa Carl Sternheims im Kontext der expressionistischen Moderne
Abstract
By examining in-depth the content, form, and language of his prose from 1910 to 1920, this dissertation establishes that Sternheim’s prose, in its rejection of the bourgeois ideal of reality and personality, and the mimetic principle of art, exhibits stylistic and structural characteristics that make it one of the relevant texts of Expressionist Modernism.
