The book is aimed at those interested—coming from various educational fields—who wish to deepen their understanding of the evolution of the construct and epistemology of creativity. It presents a detailed and multidisciplinary overview of this phenomenon, highlighting its multifaceted nature and its crucial role in education, through a complex and transdisciplinary perspective. By relating the historical succession of theories and models in specific scientific research, the book provides an overview of an open and dynamic academic debate, considering creativity as a transversal and trainable competence. Thanks to scientific studies in the field and contributions from academics belonging to other disciplines, creativity has distinguished itself from related concepts such as imagination, invention, fantasy, innovation, and discovery, developing its own autonomous status.
