    Abstract
Reminiscent narratives on Eastern, Central Eastern and Southeastern Europe and their investigation from a comparative literary perspective are the core of the volume Trauma - Generations - Narrative. With recourse to trauma theories and the concept of postmemory, the authors ask what effect traumatic experiences have on subsequent generations in the mirror of literature. Traumatic experiences, family memories, and the consequences of wars and other human-made catastrophes are the focus of the book, along with narrative techniques. The abundance and diversity of literary texts as well as their broad reception attest to the current productivity of literature with a post-memorial orientation, whose function and dynamics are particularly explored by the considerations bundled here.
