EnglishAbstract
This volume locates ancient tragic drama within a larger map of Greek lyric activity, stressing that Athenian tragedy was a vital participant in a wider song-and-performance culture. The collected essays examine the density of the lyric imprint in tragedy, and demonstrate the dynamic and nuanced relationship between Greek lyric and tragedy within the larger frame of Athenian song- and performance-culture.
