This book addresses some of the most significant aspects of Miguel Delibes, such as his human dimension, the presence of nature in his works, the projection of the historical context and society in his narrative, or the connections between his literary portraits and the pictorial ones. Thanks to the variety of approaches inherent to research in different disciplines, each chapter takes on the challenge of completing the analyzes known to date in a certain area. The personal testimonies about the writer are followed by a study of differential lexicon, that is, of voices not included in academic dictionaries, but commonly used in certain contexts, specifically that of hunting; Along with this, a comparative analysis regarding the fauna and flora present in several novels from different periods. The semiotic method serves as a basis to delve into the social and family background implicit in one of his best-known stories, The Dethroned Prince, and in its corresponding film version, while the historiographic resources have made it possible to identify and explain real events of national and cultural significance. international reflected in both supports. Various instruments of artistic research are also brought together for the examination of the drawings and literary portraits of the Valladolid author.
