oapen.abstract.otherlanguageDas Ruhrgebiet und die Region Brüssel-Hauptstadt sind durch Migration entstandene kosmopolitische Ballungszentren, in denen Integrationsprozesse besondere Bedeutung haben. Severin Frenzel hat acht Integrationskursteilnehmende aus diesen Regionen zu ihrem herausfordernden Alltag zwischen Integrationspflicht und Zukunftsoffenheit befragt. Zusätzlich zur Reflexion ihrer Lernprozesse und des Kursgeschehens berichten sie von ihren Zielen und Träumen und davon, was sie selbst unter Integration verstehen. Dabei widersprechen sie klassischen Deutungsmustern von Kulturkonflikt und Parallelgesellschaft, sodass die Analyse ihrer Erzählungen lesenswerte neue Sichtweisen auf Integration und Integrationskurse sowie auf Sprache, Bildung und Urbanität bietet.
