In fact, parallel to the presence of prejudices and false beliefs on the part of patients, there is also a great variability of scientific opinions among professionals in the field, both in relation to the indications for extraction, diagnostic aids, and intra- and post-operative management. Our text aims to merge the awareness given by clinical experience with the knowledge of an evidence-based dental culture, proposing itself as a stimulus for in-depth study for students, professionals and enthusiasts of the subject.
