    Abstract
This edited volume examines the emergence and circulation of European ideas between the East and the West during the Cold War. The twelve essays collected here discuss the official and unofficial channels through which ideas were communicated across hard borders. They shed light on the specific media technologies and the role of individuals that enabled the formation and exchange of new ideas across the Iron Curtain.
