        Abstract
The fact that the principle of solidarity represents an indispensable component of human rights is undeniable. This is evident not only in the context of certain regional human rights regimes; more in general, solidarity attains a fundamental role for the effective realization of human rights in a ‘transversal’ manner, i.e. as regards the system of human rights as a whole, even if its influence appears more evident with respect to certain specific rights. It is nevertheless necessary to recognize that, in the context of the practical implementation of human rights, the value of solidarity too often enjoys an excessively restricted space, making it necessary to attribute to it a more significant role so as to guarantee that human rights may effectively accomplish their own mission.
