oapen.abstract.otherlanguageThe present bibliographic research, maintaining Active Ageing as a reference, identifies theories that support the extension of active life during the transition from the working life to retirement, within the paradigm of lifelong learning. The main emerged theories assert the presence of predictive factors that, by exerting a transformative action, provide evidence on the impact that exposure to non-formal and informal educational actions has on active aging. If made intentional, the pedagogical device intrinsic to work generates situated learning and can facilitate the acquisition of skills useful for managing the transition from working life to retirement.
