    Abstract
Virtual spaces define our culture more than we realise. We enter them for entertainment, playing and learning; they play an increasing role in architecture, industrial processes and research. Twelve contributions from research, technology, architecture, art and theatre as well as from a theoretical-historical perspective provide insights into the field of digital spaces and virtual realities.
